Phishing Emails Now Target Users and AI Defenses

A recent phishing campaign has evolved to not only deceive users but also manipulate AI-based defenses. The attackers employed a "password expiry notice" as a lure, directing recipients to a Gmail-themed login page. Hidden within the email's plain-text MIME section was an AI prompt designed to confuse automated analysis systems, potentially leading them to misclassify the phishing attempt. This dual-layer strategy targets both human users and AI defenses, highlighting the increasing sophistication of phishing tactics.
